TITLE: The measurement calculus (joint work with E. Kashefi and P. Panangaden)

ABSTRACT: We give a self-contained and structured account of recent measurement based models of quantum computing: Raussendorf and Briegel's one-way model based on 1-qubit measurements, and Nielsen's teleportation model based on 2-qubit measurements. We define in both cases a standardisation procedure, based on the measurement calculus, that lowers depth complexity and drives any pattern in a form where entanglement is done first, then measurements, then local corrections.
